    Bored.

What word can better describe the current state that most of the time we all feel?

Yet what more of a feeling can bring the inner creative side in all of us?

Through that feeling, our inner self feels compelled to go out in the world and do us a favor of lighting up our dull state, drenched in the different monochromatic shades of gray.

It’s as if both being bored and creative go in hand in hand. Boredom takes the lead, creativity then comes in. Being bored is creativity’s way of shouting out to you and to the world that you should spend more time being in tune with yourself and expressing yourself a bit more.

Grab that guitar and strum those strings, grab that pencil and draw and some figures, get that pen and get your creative juices flowing and write something.

Or go get your camera and shoot some photos whose captured images release inner thoughts that strike a connection with the photos taken.

It’s true. It’s boring when you let that creative side of yourself trapped inside.

And because of that, I’m planning on making a short film. Check it out in a few weeks. :)

    Pangarap

Hahaha. Good times. Haha.

After ng last song niya, tumingala siya at off-mic na sinabing, “Praise to God” (o Thank you God?).

“Thanks for inspiring me in keeping my faith alive. Hahaha!

My life these past few weeks

Due to my oh-soo-hectic-sched-which-I-should-get-used-to-by-now-but-sadly-still-haven’t, I wasn’t able to log in to tumblr and keep my posts updated. So here it is now.

Feb 10, 2012 - College of Science Variety Show
This is what the stage looks like before the actual performance; people going to and fro fixing the props while other people are busy rehearsing their numbers.

And I must say that right behind the drumset is one of the best seats in the house. :) I performed 7 songs that night: Umagang Kay Ganda, Bongga Ka ‘Day, Awitin Mo at Isasayaw Ko, Tuloy Pa Rin, Pinakamagandang Lalaki, Louder by Charice, and Hey Jude.

with Psychology’s Talent Pool’s Violinist Brian Hernandez! He has one rad violin. He said it was called Silent Violin. Don’t know why it was called ‘silent’ though. :)

Yes, I have no pics during the show. How could I? I was stuck at the backstage. It’s a shame though, I really wanted to get a photo of the audience going crazy during the show itself. And as well as the faculty members doing the same. :))

After the variety show, I had a little drink with my classmates and went straight to my friend’s birthday party.

    Carlos’ Birthday

It was the first time I tasted San Mig Light Lemon and I liked it because instead of a bland/bitter aftertaste it had a sweet one instead. :D

Me, Carlos(the birthday boy!), Mille, Chino, and Kevin. I have no idea why all of us were crossing our arms when this picture was taken. :))

    Feb 14, 2012 - Valentine’s Day with our professor, Ma’am Ces

Who said that Valentine’s day was only for couples?

This, by far, was the best Valentine’s Day ever. If V-day is to be celebrated in commemoration of love then we have done it right. It was not just a privilege but a blessing to have a professor like her who treats us more than just students but as family members who, she repeatedly states, “will readily fight for”.

We as a whole are more than just friends but a family. :D Yeeeah!

Recently, my dad made all of those for me since I was usually commenting during our conversations of how convenient it would be if I had my own equipment at home.

I didn’t expect it to look that intimidating though. Especially the dumbbells. Imagine two KFC chicken buckets filled with cement on both ends of a two-feet iron bar. When the cement dried off and I saw it the first time, I chuckled… not because of confidence, but of bewilderment. Fortunately enough, they were lighter than they look.

That’s not all, my dad is telling me to look for a punching bag and a pair of punching gloves. Not totally sure, why he’s into this home gym all of a sudden but regardless, I’m thankful. I did remember him saying that I’m starting to be like Rocky Balboa when he was training before fights. Well, I now know what will happen to me if I fail to finish my college course. Haha. :D

    16th National Autism Consciousness Week

Last Sunday, the Autism Society of the Philippines (ASP) held its 16th National Autism Consciousness Week at the Mall of Asia. It aims to promote awareness among people regarding people with autism and the necessary support that should be and are provided to them.

The theme of this year’s event was: “Making the Rights Real for Filipinos with Autism” and the walk was called “Angels Walk for Autism”.

8am call time? On a Sunday?! and we’re not, like, going shopping?! (LOL. I kid at the last line) Yeah, I kinda groaned when I heard it too. -_-

Different groups, organizations, students, and government agencies participated in this event.

That’s my classmates there! It kinda feels awkward when you unnecessarily stand out of the crowd especially when you are one of the minority - almost everyone was wearing green and we, UST’s 3rd year Psychology students, were wearing orange.

And when I mean almost everyone, I mean it like this…

Feel free to scroll back up to make comparisons and do the math while you’re at it. Up until now, I have no idea why we wore orange. Haha. :D The event was held at MOA’s Music Hall.

At first I really thought that it would be one boring morning for me that day. You know, long talks, people just mindlessly chatting with one another, some are walking here and there, others clandestinely positioning themselves so that they could just sleep all through out the program.

Well, that was what I had in mind. Until THIS happened:

And mind you, the one leading the dance really knows how to dance! The picture above was not what I had imagined earlier that day, but I can confidently say it was A LOT BETTER!

Now, the next pic you are about to see holds some special meaning to me. The next performers were the children who had autism. They were accompanied by two singers. The song chosen for their performance was “Note to God” (originally written by Dianne Warren and popularized by Jojo and Charice Pempengco)

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P4Xd435coD4&ob=av3e <— check the song here. :)

While I was taking pictures in front of the stage, this girl kept looking at me. I then smiled back, not even sure whether she would see me (there were a lot of people with me also taking pictures where I was). She kept glancing back at me through out the performance. I then took that as a “yes” to my query.

It’s touching seeing this scenery. Yeah, they only knelt throughout the entire song but seeing them innocently kneeling there with the song playing in the background, it would seem as though they were praying to God, and all of us were privileged to witness such a precious communication between them.

There were other performances held afterwards before the actual walk around MOA started.

These guys were the back up singers. I managed to get a better shot of them than the main vocalist because they were stationary. They were singing Price Tag by Jessie J. :)

The next pics you are about to see are the different organizations and government agencies that participated in this event. If you see people wearing orange, that’s probably us. :D

All of us walked around selected areas in MOA.

Let’s face it. Malling has been incorporated into our lifestyles. One of the main reasons we casually go to malls is to forget everything and just have fun. We go out with friends and walk through the the wide walkways of malls, enjoying the smooth square cut tiles of differing styles, the cold breeze of the air condition, the flashy, colorful lights of boutiques, game stores, food chains, the booming sounds that come from them to attract customers. Everything.

But what about those people with autism, or those people whose family members have autism? They cannot enjoy doing the same without receiving criticizing stares from other people they meet. Nor can they enjoy malling without holding on tight to their family member for fear that he/she might wander off and bump into someone who’s unaware of the autism condition.

Partly, they can’t enjoy as much as we do. But we can make a change. We can join other groups and help promote awareness among other people so that other people can help too. For starters, we can treat people with autism with the care, attention and understanding that they need. Every small thing we do makes a difference.

Here’s a picture again of my classmates and our professor:

I didn’t get to finish the event. We went home after the walk around MOA.

It was indeed a tiring but fulfilling day! :) And speaking of FULFILLING… A guy gave me a bunch of food stubs when I was waiting in line to get my food.

Don’t get the wrong idea, I shared those with 3 other people. Fulfilling, right? Haha. :D
